Moonlight

I'm rarely surprised by the Underdown anymore, but the moonlight tonight made the bogs glow.
  • A few inches of new snow
  • Ski trails were just groomed, and Loop Road has a fast and firm looking skate track.
  • Snowshoe trails are still really solid from last weekend. Trails A and Z could be boot hiked or biked, but overall snowshoes are still the best bet.

Ice Age Snowshoe Hike

40 to 50 folks showed up on a warm day for a little snowshoeing. The rain held off, though Mist Lake had some weird fog.

Snow Report

I just took a nice skate around Loop Road. It is smooth, firm, and wide. All ski trails are in great shape, and the snowshoe routes have had a lot of visitors. Everything looks great in the Underdown.
Group snowshoe hike on the 23rd at 10AM. Details and maps below.

Snowshoe Hike the 23rd

Underdown ski trails have just been tracked, and Loop Road even has a solid base that looks good for skating. Snowshoe trails are solid and have fresh tracks all the way to Mist Lake. Then it started snowing hard.

Our group hike will start at 10AM on January 23rd from the main parking lot - guides, treats, and a fire. Hikes of 1 to 4 hours!
More frosty trees here.
