The last time it was measured, the Underdown had about 100 feet of climbing per mile which was about twice as much as a place like 9 Mile. These trails don't tip-toe around the hills.
I have only heard good things about the race, but it has never worked out. That would include this year. I do plan on crossing this race off my list at some point. Maybe next year?
If you wait until 2012, you might be facing the Billpocalypse, a monster course beyond last year's. If the world is going to end anyway, we might as well help.
This is a list of guys who haven't done the Thunderdown yet, but should have. If you see one of them, let him know we're looking for him.
